Mark King's
Vintage Collection
Travel back in time to when Men were Men and real Men only used analog because.....

............. there was no such thing as digital!

Nine lovingly handcrafted songs are delivered to you on this CD. Buy this disc and you will hear state-of-the-art inexpensive spring reverbs combined with luscious vintage tape-echo effects. Mark's soul-filled vocal style and overdriven guitar playing powers up every one of the songs on this CD.

In spite of incredible technology blockages, Mark King has finally unleashed the early recordings that document the heritage of his unique song writing and guitar playing styles. This disc chronicles the best of this artist's early works.

TECHNOLOGY SAVES THE TAPES

The master tapes for this CD were almost lost in a tragic basement sewage backup. They were submerged in a thick dark black liquid for a couple of days before being stored and ignored for years.

"When the condition of the tapes was discovered we put together a crack mastering team to take a look at restoring the sewage soaked stereo tapes". George Massenburg, Bob Katz, Bob Clearmountain and Bob Ludwig eagerly joined this challenging restoration project (but each swore they'd never admit to any involvement).

Before beginning the arduous restoration process the mastering team partied hard (brainstormed) to determine the best way to proceed. When Bob first saw the tapes his immediate response was "wow, this is one of the shittiest projects I've ever seen".

Inch by inch the poop-drenched quarter-inch stereo half track masters were laboriously cleaned with a highly toxic secret formula (a mix of Formbys furniture stripper, Dawn dishwashing liquid and at the insistance of the Nashville based participants, a few quarts of Jack Daniels). Each entire roll of 1800 feet of tape was laid out in the sun to dry while the Jack was consumed. Finally each master was wound tails-out back onto vintage seven-inch plastic take up reels disinfected with Lysol and Evan Williams black label.

After a real long drawn-out process that was just plain gross, the master tapes were finally clean, restored and digitized for this "Limitied Edition Collectors Series" release.

Here is what Mark King said when he heard the restored masters: "they sound pretty much like they always did". At this point, the mastering team celebrated wildly.
